Every community has people who quietly make a difference - not because they're looking for recognition, but because they believe that when someone needs help, you show up.

That belief has guided my life, and it is why I want to serve you in the Rhode Island House of Representatives.

I was born in the Dominican Republic, and like so many families who now call Washington Park and the Lower South Side home, I understand the courage, sacrifice, and determination it takes to build a better future. Providence is the place where I planted my roots, where I am proudly raising my son, and where I chose to dedicate my life to serving children, families, and our community.

As an educator, I have seen firsthand how the right teacher can change the course of a life by believing in a child. As an advocate, I have sat beside parents who simply wanted the best for their children but did not know where to turn. Through my work leading a nonprofit parent support organization Apoyo Especial con Arlette, I have had the privilege of helping thousands of Rhode Island families navigate the education system, understand special education services, and access the resources they deserve.

Those experiences have taught me that every family has a story, every voice deserves to be heard, and every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

Washington Park and the Lower South Side are communities built by hardworking people. We are families with children, seniors who have spent decades building these neighborhoods, workers, veterans, immigrants, and entrepreneurs who care deeply about one another. Our diversity is one of our greatest strengths, and it should be reflected by someone who understands our community and is ready to fight for it each and every day.

Like many of you, I see the challenges we face. Families are working harder than ever while struggling to keep up with the cost of housing. Parents are searching for affordable childcare. Small businesses are doing everything they can to stay open. Residents are fighting for cleaner air, healthier neighborhoods, and a stronger voice in decisions that impact the future of our community. These are not headlines to me—they are the daily conversations I have with the people I serve.

That is why I decided to run for state representative.

I believe every child deserves a quality education that prepares them for a successful future. Every family deserves the opportunity to build a stable life. Every neighborhood deserves to be healthy, safe, and heard.

As your state representative, I will work to strengthen our public schools, expand access to affordable childcare, support small businesses, create opportunities for good-paying jobs, and advocate for safe, stable, and affordable housing. I will continue fighting for cleaner air and healthier neighborhoods while ensuring residents have a meaningful voice in decisions surrounding the Port of Providence. I will also work to expand language access, promote transparent government, and make sure every resident—regardless of their background or the language they speak—feels included, respected, and represented.

I believe that public service begins with showing up, listening, and being willing to stand beside people when they need someone the most. That has been my life's work, and it is the same commitment I will bring to the State House.

With an opportunity to serve in this new capacity, I seek to make meaningful change for our community. I believe my experience as an educator, my years of advocating for children and families, my understanding of the challenges facing District 12, and my commitment to bringing people together have prepared me to be an effective voice for Washington Park and the Lower South Side.

I recognize that real impact requires strong leadership. I pledge to be a leader who is present, who listens, and fights for your family as I do for my own. I will lead with honesty, compassion, integrity, and a deep respect for every resident I have the privilege to represent.

On Wednesday, September 9, 2026, I respectfully ask for your support and your vote in the Democratic primary for Rhode Island House of Representatives, District 12.

It would be the greatest honor of my life to serve the community that has given so much to me. Together, we can create more opportunity for our children, stronger neighborhoods for our families, and a brighter future for Washington Park, the Lower South Side, and all of District 12.
